The high carrying capacity of optic fibres also makes them easy to install compared to wire cables, which are thicker and more rigid. If you need to transmit a large amount of information through wire cables, you will need very thick cables, which are inflexible and difficult to install. On the other hand, fibre optic cables are thinner and more flexible making them easier to place through walls and cable ducts. What is more, these cables made from fibre optic are not flammable, so you can run them through ventilation ducts. This simplifies matters, while the costs of installation will be lowers significantly.

High speed signals over long distances

The incredible capacity of fibre optics to carry high-speed signals is another reason why this technology is so precious. What is more, the signals are not only carried at the fastest speed possible, they are also capable of traversing incredibly long distances. To a human, it might seem like information is transmitted instantly from one side to the world to the other. We can now communicate with people hundreds of thousands of kilometres away from us and our messages reaches them almost instantly and as clearer than you might think possible, as if they are sitting right next to us.
